Save money by accessing wholesale electricity prices
All energy retailers buy their electricity from the wholesale electricity market, where prices are set every 30 minutes by the government’s Australian Energy Market Operator. Amber gives you access to these prices, without any retail markup. Find out why our model is better for you and the environment, and what we have planned for the future.
Now that we're with @AmberElectricAU - and our electricity costs vary hour by hour, I'm now seriously experimenting with Tesla's Powerwall time based controls. Also, wind turbines in Victoria must be pumping today! Check out that renewable figure! 39%!
Tried out something new and switched power companies to Amber, who offer power at wholesale rates. 2 weeks in and the 40c a KW I was paying to Origin is now an average of 27c to Amber 😱https://www.amberelectric.com.au/
Amber is great! Paying on average about 17c/kWh, used to pay 24c on cheapest fixed price available. Yes surges sometimes happen, but you can track them in advance with the app & reduce usage. I'll never go back to fixed pricing.
Chris thanks again for your review of my recent power bill and thanks for being honest ! Rare to find an honest electricity ‘retailer’ these days! Keep up the good work. (Please note - I am not being paid for this comment if that’s what people are thinking)
Just had our first bill and my spreadsheet was a bit wrong... Turned out we saved even more than I calculated! Thanks @AmberElectricAU - supporting a local cafe with breakfast out with my wife is courtesy of your prices... :)
Amber passes through wholesale electricity prices directly at the cost to us, this includes: wholesale energy costs, hedging costs, network charges (per kWh and per day), metering costs, environmental costs and carbon offset costs.
